I know what you're looking for is "I am a huge Mart fan and my universe revolves around him."

Not gonna find that here.  No matter what evil plots Mart and April devise.

Nope.  Not happening.  NOT HERE.

I am a Trixie fan through-and-through.  Beyond obsessed, I have actually been known to believe that I am Trixie.  (And don’t call the men in white coats on me.  You’ve all had equally weird notions in your lives.)  As such, I have a very healthy obsession with the supple redhead.  I can appreciate the virtues of the leather-jacketed one.  I can even toy with obscure fantasies of unusual dalliances.

But Mart can only be seen one way – as a pesky, annoying, big-mouthed almost-twin brother.

He is fair game for all my abuse.

But God help the outsider that dares to try to dish out the same!

  • Who I Am  I am, quite frankly, a child masquerading in an adult body.  I got older, somewhere along the line, but I never grew up.  You know how children say, "When I grow up I want to be..."?  Well, I never figured out what I want to be when I grow up  Maybe that's because being a kid is just so much fun.  Can't we do that forever?

Anyway, I got older.  As I got older, I got married to a great guy and had four beautiful children.  Now I'm supposed to teach them how to grow up.  Obviously, I'm having a little trouble with that concept.

I became a secretary when I was young.  I thought it would be a convenient "job" until I figured out what I wanted to do for a "career".  That was 20 years ago.  Now I have a good career as an experienced secretary.  Of course, since I expect to have to work for another 30 or 40 years, I still have time to figure out if there is something else I'd rather do.

  • Where I Live I grew up in Buffalo, NY.  I moved away for 5 years to Washington, D.C., but then I came home.  I moved to the city next door, Niagara Falls, NY, USA.  Our city has one of the most recognized names in the world, and on our doorstep sits one of the most famous sites of all time.  And yet, this city is still basically a small town.  We are in a time of economic depression; we're hoping for a brighter future.  In the meantime, I enjoy the view.  I get my exercise walking through the state parks, around the Falls and through the Gorge, and I bask in the beauty of God's handiwork.

  • Why I Write When I was young, I spent all of my time writing.  I wrote poems and short stories, and anything else that came to mind.  Of course, at 14 I didn't write all that well.  But I wrote.  At some point in time, I quit.  I'm not sure if I remember when or why.  Maybe it was all the required writing in college that put me off.  I don't know.  The point is, I stopped.

Then I discovered Zap's Trixie Belden Home Page, and Jixemitri.  I had always adored Trixie as a kid, and even as an adult when I needed to get away from real life, I would make up stories about her in my head.  Now I knew there were others out there who did that as well - but they went one better.  They wrote their stories down to share with other Trixie friends.  I decided to join the club.  And when I did, I remembered how much I really loved writing.

My husband wishes I would just write something I could publish.  Someday maybe I will.  In the meantime, I practice the craft by sharing my love of Trixie with my friends.  I've returned to my first love, in more ways than one.

As an added bonus, my daughter now loves to write.  Her specialty is song lyrics.  What is really cool is that she digs out the old poems I wrote at her age, tells me they're good, and then uses them as inspiration to write even better songs.  It's a great way to stroke Mom's ego.
